“The opportunity to study in the United Kingdom is one which I would take advantage of both in mind and in spirit. In the U.K. I would be at the heart of my major field of study, English, and thereby allowing me to research and explore the country’s heritage. Also, meeting native Englishmen and discovering how they view their country in comparison with the inhabitants of the United States would develop my knowledge of English as a language well as facilitate a heightened sense of global awareness.
