The Walter Hines Page Scholarship promotes the exchange of international educational ideas. Eight to ten British scholars, one scholar from New Zealand and another from Argentina come to the U.S. to study recent developments related to their own academic studies.
"The
opportunity to visit so many varied schools in America has benefited
me enormously. To share different views with
colleagues on a wide
range of educational topics has allowed me to reflect upon
and modify my own views."

Former Page Scholars have studied
a wide variety of subjects. Topics include multicultural education, rewards and sanctions
in U.S. schools,
the development
of study
skills, and vocational education. Approximately 40 ESU Branches
participate by arranging for accomodations
and professional appointments in their communities. Two Branches
have the opportunity to select one teacher each to send to New Zealand and Argentina.
