James Dessin, the recently selected 2005 ESU Luard Scholar, spoke on Monday, May 9th in the Chavis Board Room of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. A riveting speaker, Dessin spoke about his research on providing impoverished youth with an education in non-violence. His discussion focused on his experiences in Dorechester Bay, Boston, New Orleans and Atlanta with violence and youth.
