2022 Austin Branch Shakespeare Competition

Austin Branch was pleased to support the 2022 Shakespeare Competition, this time on a Saturday afternoon in the historic Neill-Cochran House Museum.  Four contestants delivered riveting recitations and the audience responded enthusiastically to them all.

First prize went to Molly Livesay, here at the middle of her assembled family.  The heartening note below is from her mother and deserves to be read by all ESU members!

Thank you all for what you do!  With so many challenges nowadays with everything in life, I am so grateful you are still trying to have a competition.  All your efforts do not go unnoticed.

For what it's worth, my daughter talks about the last competition as her favorite moment in her high school career.  She's becoming a Shakespeare nerd and is thinking about studying it in college.  Your efforts have fostered the love of Shakespeare in many young adults, which is a gift.  Thank you!

Susie Livesay
