National Shakespeare Competition

The English-Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition assists high school teachers across the country with their Shakespeare and language arts curricula. Through the competition, students are encouraged to develop their communication skills and an appreciation of the power of language and literature. 


2018 ESU Austin Shakespeare Competition

Schools in the Austin area serving grades 9-12 are invited to participate.

School Competition

Complete 2018 School Participation Form by November 30, 2017  to register your school

Notify the ESU Austin of your School Winner by completing the School Winner Entry Form by December 8, 2017

  • All School Winners must complete and return the Photo Release Form by December 8, 2018

Branch Competition Finals

6:00pm, January 9, 2018 at the Austin Women's Club (708 San Antonio St., Austin, TX 78701)

National Competition

The ESU Austin Branch Winner will advance to the National Competition on April 23, 2018 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, Lincoln Center, New York City
