ANNE MORROW LINDBERGH TOPIC OF APRIL 8 PROGRAM
Ms Virnell Bruce fulfilled her dream of writing a one-woman play, Shells - A Cameo of Anne Morrow Lindbergh which is currently in print, after spending 36 years in the aerospace industry. The topic of this presentation, Anne Morrow Lindbergh was one of the most accomplished women of the Twentieth century, a writer, aviator, mother and wife. Mrs. Lindbergh shared charting original air-routes with her husband, writing about other women’s lives while remaining true and constant in her personal life’s journey toward insight. Ms Bruce will focus on Mrs. Lindbergh’s life and challenges which encompass children and parents, his and her affairs, the pioneering of aviation flights to current travel. The audience will also glimpse a peak into personal details from her writings to the special dedicated places used to record memories. Ms Bruce currently teaches a class through the Christopher Wren Association in Williamsburg. This association is sponsored by The College of William and Mary and its premise is to provide an education program for people over 55 years of age. She has a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English. Virnell is a Trustee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. and is a mentor with Big Sisters of Williamsburg. |
