About Our Scholarship Programs
Our current educational activities include the following:
British University Summer Scholarships
Since 1957 we have sponsored yearly scholarships for Denver area high school teachers for summer studies at British universities and the Globe Theatre.
If you would like to see what the basic forms look like and or to learn about this program feel free to down load the Letter to Teachers, the Application and the BUSS Brochure.

The basic forms all applicants should download are, the 2012 Letter to Teachers, the 2012 BUSS Application form, the 2012 BUSS Brochure which lists the courses available for the 2012 summer program, and the Denver Requirements for Recipients of our Fellowship.

Shakespeare Competition
We held our 2011-2012 Competition on Oct.9th,2011.
The group picture is posted on the left, and one of our three winners with our guest William Shakespeare follows.

The winner of the Branch competition receives an all expense paid trip to New York City, April 21,22,23,2012.The Denver winner competes with Branch winners from across the US at the Lincoln Center, and vies for the first prize of a summer study course at the British Academy of Dramatic Art's Midsummer Conservatory Program in Oxford, England.

The Denver Branch winner typically performs at our Annual meeting the following July.

The National Organization has a list of recommended Monologues and Sonnets for students to use. Here's the Link to the list.

School Competition registration form. Even though the title is Branch Competition Entry Form, this form is to be used by the teachers to tell us who the school winner and runner-up are,along with their contact information, and the lines of the monologue they will be reciting. We are requesting that the entire monologue be attached to this form to aid the judges at the time of the competition.

High School Writing Competition
This is our newest program. it is open to high school students who want,or need to have a judged essay in their college portfolios.

The essays are judged by a group of teachers, writers an scholars. See more about this program on the "Who we are" page.

The Walter Hines Page Scholarships
Each year we host a Page Scholar, an educator from England or New Zealand, who comes to this country to share ideas and to study developments in his/her specialized fields. We arrange for school visits, housing in members' homes and a reception for the scholar, which usually includes a short presentation plus question and answer session.
