SHAKESPEARE COMPETITION

The San Diego Branch is preparing for our 25th year of the Shakespeare Competition. We have had outstanding students participate from public, private and religious schools and from home schooling in the past 24 years.
The object of the Shakespeare Competition is to provide a format for enhancing Shakespeare instruction in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Each year the National Headquarters of The English-Speaking Union promotes a nationwide contest among high school students requiring them to perform two short works of Shakespeare. Each participating English-Speaking Union branch sends a contestant to New York to compete on a national level.
