More About our Programs Our current educational activities include the following:
British University Summer School Scholarships Since 1957 we have sponsored yearly scholarships for Denver area high school teachers for summer studies at British universities and the Globe Theatre. This summer, 2007, we sponsored three teachers. They will report on their experiences at the September 16th potluck luncheon,(see our Calendar of Events page for the details). Shakespeare Competition We sponsor an annual Shakespeare Recitation Competition in February for high school students and have uncovered some incredible talent.
The winner of the Branch competition receives an all expense paid trip to New York City in April,to compete with other Branch winners at the Lincoln Center, and vie for the first prize of a summer study course in the United Kingdom.
The Denver Branch winner typically performs at one of our spring meetings.

The Walter Hines Page Scholarships Each year we host a Page Scholar, an educator from England or New Zealand, who comes to this country to share ideas and to study developments in his/her specialized fields. We arrange for school visits, housing in members' homes and a reception for the scholar, which usually includes a short presentation plus question and answer session. This year's Page Scholar was here at the end of March.
The George and Marion Milton Scholarship Thanks to the generosity of Marion Milton, scholarships were granted to four undergraduate students at the University of Denver to help support their fall term 2007 in London. Upon their return to Denver they will prepare an essay reflecting their experiences and will attend a Branch event, so our members can meet them. We expect to continue this scholarship at least into 2008.
