Hamilton Middle School Shows Remarkable TCAP Gains
At Hamilton Middle School in Denver, teachers began the year with a pep rally -- but it wasn't for a sports team, or for any one individual.
No, this pep rally, the balloons, cake, and rip-roaring applause, was for the success of the entire Hamilton community -- its teachers, its parents, and some remarkable students -- as well as the leadership of Principal Nick Dawkins.
Hamilton Middle School has made significant, sustained proficiency gains in all subject areas on the Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP). Students posted a cumulative Median Growth Percentile (MGP) of 188.
