National Shakespeare Competition

The English-Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition assists high school teachers across the country with their Shakespeare and language arts curricula. Through the competition, students are encouraged to develop their communication skills and an appreciation of the power of language and literature. 


2018 ESU Kentucky Shakespeare Competition

Schools across Kentucky serving grades 9-12 are invited to participate.

School Competition

Complete 2018 School Participation Form by February 23, 2018 to register your school

Notify the ESU Kentucky of your School Winner by completing the School Winner Entry Form by February 26, 2018

  • All School Winners must complete and return the Photo Release Form by February 26, 2018

Branch Competition Semi-Finals

The ESU Kentucky will determine if a semi-finals competition will be held pending registrations.  The semi-finals would be held on the same date/time as the finals.

Branch Competition Finals

12:00pm, March 4, 2018 at Wyatt Hall, Bellarmine University (2001 Newburg Rd., Louisville, KY 40205)

National Competition

The ESU Kentucky Branch Winner will advance to the National Competition on April 23, 2018 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, Lincoln Center, New York City
