We are a non-profit, non-political membership organization whose mission is to promote scholarship and the advancement of knowledge through the effective use of English in an expanding global community. We sponsor and organize educational and cultural programs for students and teachers as well as provide lectures, social events, and travel opportunities for our members. The Oklahoma City Branch is one of 68 located throughout the United States and is part of a global network of ESUs promoting educational opportunities in over 50 countries around the world. Two-Day Teaching Shakespeare through

The Oklahoma City and Tulsa branches of The English-Speaking Union with the support of The University of Tulsa and Cambridge University, are hosting a Two-day Sneaking up on Shakespeareworkshop:
Tulsa at The University of Tulsa, July 17-18, Shakespeare's tragedy, Hamlet.
Sneaking up on Shakespeare workshops offer practical, active approaches to teaching Shakespeare and helping students own the language and the plays through collaboration and performance. The focus of this approach is the development of performance-based strategies for teaching Shakespeare. Participants will experience a wide range of active learning strategies and leave with the latest teaching materials.
The ESU celebrates English as a shared language to foster global understanding and good will by providing educational and cultural opportunities for students, educators, and members.
