Since 1957, the ESU's British Universities Summer School (BUSS) fellowships
have given American high school teachers the opportunity to continue their
education by studying abroad for two to three weeks at prestigious centers
of learning - Shakespeare's Globe in London, Oxford University and Edinburgh
University. Over 2,000 ESU BUSS teachers have returned revitalized and
inspired to share their new teaching strategies, knowledge and international
perspective with over 200,000 students nationwide.

The experience at Shakespeare's Globe for the program "Teaching Shakespeare Through Performance" has been truly life-changing - not only for my own perspective, but for my classroom and students. The instruction and educational practices breathed new life into my perception of Shakespeare and his plays - and the pedagogical approaches are unlike anything I have learned before. I honestly cannot fully express how deeply and thoroughly the three-week program has affected my teaching, my approach to Shakespeare, and my success as one who is entrusted with hundreds of lives at Cosby High School. I cannot praise the Globe Education department highly enough - they are brilliant, humble, and completely inspiring. My students are already loving each lesson I bring from the Globe's TSTP program! I cannot wait to keep sharing what I have learned!
