The English Speaking Union of Boston's Shakespeare Competition Semi-Finals

– January 24, 2015 at Mount Ida College
On Saturday, January 31st at 10:30 AM the English-Speaking Union of Boston will hold the Shakespeare Competition Semi-Finals at Mount Ida College. The Finals will also be held at Mount Ida On February 7th at 1 PM.
Parking is available in the visitor lot which is directly to the left when you enter campus. Please proceed across the street to the downstairs entrance of the Campus Center.
Brunch will be available for $7.25 and is available between 11 am – 2 pm and there will be a private dining room with a sign indicating: "Reserved for Shakespeare Competition"

The English Speaking Union of Boston honored Andre Dubus III (left) this week as the ESU 2014 Author of the Year. Presenting the award is Boston Branch president, Paul Boghosian, of Belmont. Dubus is the author of six books, including the New York Times bestsellers House of Sand and Fog, The Garden of Last Days, and his memoir, Townie. His most recent book, Dirty Love, published in the fall of 2013, was a New York Times "Notable Book" selection, a New York Times "Editors' Choice", a 2013 "Notable Fiction" choice from the Washington Post, and a Kirkus "Starred Best Book of 2013". Dubus, an award winning teacher, lectures at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE For teen from Scituate High School
News
New York City, May 5, 2014 -- Captivating audiences with a performance of a sonnet and monologue from Shakespeare, John Duff from Scituate, Massachusetts, a student of Ty Lemerande at Scituate High School in Scituate, placed as a semi-finalist in the 31st annual English-Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition. The Competition was held on May 5th at Lincoln Center Theater in New York City for 58 winners of ESU Branch competitions nationwide. John had previously won the ESU Boston Branch regional competition.
