National Shakespeare Competition

The English-Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition assists high school teachers across the country with their Shakespeare and language arts curricula. Through the competition, students are encouraged to develop their communication skills and an appreciation of the power of language and literature. 

 

2018 ESU Chicago Shakespeare Competition

Schools in the Chicago area serving grades 9-12 are invited to participate.

School Competition

Complete 2018 School Participation Form by December 20, 2017 register your school

Notify the ESU Chicago of your School Winner by completing the School Winner Entry Form by February 2, 2018

  • All School Winners must complete and return the Photo Release Form by February 2, 2018

Branch Competition Semi-Finals

9:00am, February 21, 2018 at Roosevelt University (430 South Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60605) (to be confirmed)

Branch Competition Finals

6:00pm, February 28, 2018 at the Newberry Library (60 W. Walton St., Chicago, IL 60610) (to be confirmed)

National Competition

The ESU Chicago Branch Winner will advance to the National Competition, tentatively scheduled for April 23, 2018 (Location to be confirmed)
