On February 19th, we will warm a winter afternoon with a talk on English gardens by Magda Salvesen, an art historian and the author of Exploring Gardens and Green Spaces, who has taught garden history at the New York Botanical Gardens and at New York University, and lectured at the Horticultural Society of New York. Just in time to begin dreaming of our own spring time gardens, we may be inspired by this talk on the afternoon of February 19th, 2017.
Our annual Shakespeare Competition is open to the public, and free of charge. Come to the Performing Arts Center on the Brookdale Community College Campus the morning of March 5th to see some of the most talented high school students in Monmouth County perform monologues and sonnets in front of an audience and judges; our winner will go on to the national competition in New York.
You don't want to miss these programs, or the awesome opportunities to meet other colleagues interested in our English culture and traditions! You may attend any of these meetings, and since I know you'll enjoy them, you'll wish, if you are not a member of the ESU, to sign up today, using the instructions found on this website. We welcome you heartily to participate in our new season!
Looking forward to meeting you,
Dr. Ralph W. Wyndrum Jr.
