KIRSTIN BRIDIER – THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR SCOTLAND AND SAVING HILL HOUSE, HOME OF CHARLES RENNIE MACINTOSH

Kirstin Bridier
Executive Director – National Trust for Scotland
Kirstin is responsible for securing support for the Trust from individual, corporate, and foundation donors in the US. Kirstin, who previously worked at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, is a graduate of Smith College and holds an M.Sc. in historic preservation from the University of Pennsylvania. This presentation will feature efforts to preserve Hill House, home of Charles Rennie Macintosh.
LOCATION: The Kirby Arts Center, The Lawrenceville School
TIME: 3.00 PM
The presentation will be followed by refreshments. Free to E-SU Members. $10 for non-members.

Peter's talk is based on Catherine Bailey's book, 'Black Diamonds' and is titled 'The End Of It All: Wentworth House, The Fitzwilliams and the 1940s Labour Government'. The talk describes the coda to the political and social forces set in motion by the Glorious Revolution and the 1689 Bill of Rights that Peter described in his earlier talk on the the English Landscape Garden movement, 'Politics in the Garden'.
