On April 17th, the Richmond ESU will welcome Dr. John D. Treadway, Professor of History and International Studies at the University of Richmond for a lecture that will provide some background and context for the upcoming June 23 British referendum on whether to stay in or exit the European Union. The program will be at the University of Richmond in the International Center Commons located in the Weinstein International Center, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Professor Treadway is a historian of modern Europe, specializing in Germanic Europe and the Balkans. He has taught at the University of Richmond since 1980 and is a five-time recipient of the University's Distinguished Educator Award. The author of The Falcon and the Eagle: Montenegro and Austria-Hungary, 1908-1914, among other publications, he frequently serves as a historical consultant to the US Departments of State and Defense, and as the on-site supervisor of the University's summer study program in Berlin.
