Branch Spirit and Anglophilia at Its Spontaneous Best – 21 April 2026
This is a little story about longtime ESU Branch member and old family friend, Carole Fauth, which I am very pleased to share with the membership. Her celebration of the late Queen made my day. I’ve said it before… we have the most interesting and attractive members. Well done Carole!

“I’m still in Key West. A New York friend and I had a dozen ladies come celebrate on the eve of HRH’s birthday. One of the guests, British author Rosalind Brackenbury, gave a toast while we sipped champagne before our Earl Grey. I contributed cucumber sandwiches and lemon pound cake, and my co-hostess did smoked salmon and coronation chicken. She had ordered shortbread biscuits from Highgrove. It was a huge success.
Later that evening I had dinner with one of the top literary agents(now retired) from London. He represented Graham Greene, John LeCarre, Muriel Spark,et al… So the whole day was very English!!!“
