Dick Howard – Lifetime Achievement – 19 March 2026

On 19 March, 2026, Richmond Law presented A.E. Dick Howard with the 2026 William Green Award for Professional Excellence.  Howard is the Warner-Booker Distinguished professor of International Law Emeritus at UVA Law and a nationally renowned constitutional scholar.  

The Charlottesville Branch of the ESU is proud that Dick Howard, a member and former leader of the branch, has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award and presented a Tour D’Horizon of a long and successful career of advising the Commonwealth of Virginia on Constitutional matters as well as several of the then newly forming governments of the Post Soviet era in Eastern Europe, not to mention decades of teaching Constitutional Law.

The Branch would like to thank the Charlottesville Branch members Jane and David Abbott for attending the ceremony at University of Richmond Law School and for providing some photos of the event.
