The Battle of the Books program is an annual voluntary reading incentive program to promote the love of reading among students in our Elementary Schools. Students work with each other to compete in a fun, academic-based competition that helps them improve reading skills, mature in their choices of reading materials and acquire a broader knowledge base.

The Sandhills Branch along with our partnership with the local Rotary Club helps support the annual Battle of the Books with a generous grant that is used to purchase books for the tournaments.
