The English-Speaking Union of the United States is a membership organization whose mission is facilitated locally by the volunteer efforts of our Branch members around the country.
We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and donations and membership contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

As an English-Speaking Union Branch member, you are contributing both financially and personally to programs that enrich the lives of students and educators through a diverse range of local and national programs.

You can become a member of the English-Speaking Union by joining one of our branches where you will have the opportunity to foster global understanding by fulfilling the mission of the ESU. Each branch establishes its own membership dues, an established portion of which supports the ESUs national education programs. National Patron Program

Your National Patronage ensures that the ESU has both sound Branches and a strong National Headquarters to advance our shared mission and values. As a National Patron, you play a key role in support meaningful cultural and educational programs that enrich the lives our members and thousands of middle school, high school and college students nationwide, as well as the greater international community of those teaching, learning and speaking English.

As a National Patron You Will:

  • be able to designate up to half of your gift to your Branch while receiving national recognition for the full amount of your gift
  • have the option to make quarterly payments
  • receive the special benefits of your membership level
