Who We Are

The English Speaking Union of the United States (ESU) is dedicated to employing the English language to foster global understanding and good will through educational opportunities and cultural exchange programs. Our programs focus on study abroad opportunities and scholarships for teachers, students, and life-long learners, English language classes and individual workforce development initiatives for immigrants, and advancing the knowledge, skills, and abilities of our youth through the study and performance of literary classics, public speaking, and debating.

The English-Speaking Union of the United States is a membership organization whose mission is facilitated locally by the volunteer efforts of our Branch members around the country.

We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and donations and membership contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
