Since 1983, the English-Speaking Union’s National Shakespeare Competition has recognized exceptional high school students from across the United States who bring the Bard’s words to life on stage. Each year, thousands of students participate nationwide—culminating in a national final where top performers showcase their talent at Lincoln Center in New York City.

The Competition has launched the careers of countless actors, writers, educators, and directors. We are proud to honor these alumni, whose passion for Shakespeare and the spoken word continues to inspire.
